[new toys] MSI GE62 gaming notebook openbox

The new born baby, the big brother in gaming industry, this is what I describe for my new toy. Everytime when big game title comes, there will always bring a trend that ppl will upgrade their own gaming gear to pursuit the extreme in game graphics qualities. Personally sometimes I will play console games in XBOX, but I still think the gaming notebook can fit my style that can work and play at the same time.

Before I purchase GE62, I did a lot of comparison from the web site and check in the physical store. Just to share with everyone who are also interested in this products and save the time to study the products again.
MSI GS60 Ghost Pro,
Pros:
l   The slimmest and lightest 15.5” gaming notebook,
l   only 1.96kg but can go up to NVidia GTX970M graphics
l   3 SSD for main hard drive, can boost up OS in seconds
Cons:
l   kind of expensive
l   not sure for the battery life

MSI GE62 Apache,
Pros:
l   whole new chassis design compare to last gen GE60, with two dual fans,
l   NVidia GTX 965M, performance is already in the mid-high end range,
l   3 SSD for main hard drive, can boost up OS in seconds
l   Dedicated heat pipes for both GPU and CPU
Cons:
l   Weight 2.4kg, after putting in the backpack for whole day traveling, you will still find out the small weight difference will make difference.
l   Finger prints on A cover and c side will not be remove easily

ASUS G551,
l   Good quality product design and stylish design by ROG,
l   Affordable price
Cons,
l   Using Only 2 pipes and 1 single fan for NVidia GTX960M might cause lower the cpu/gpu frequency and lower the performance in gaming
l   1SSD + 1HDD only

l   2.6KG, kind of heavy already

New baby just arrive in my place

Beat it? no idea what that it, but I do know the Fnatic is a quite good performance gaming team from Europe .

I think this is the prettiest angel of GE62, the metal brush lines and the muscle curve line ID design

The Dragon logo for MSI now = Gaming. And gaming looks like is the first priority now in the market, from the entry level GP series to the extreme level GT series. Gamers will be more easily and clear to choose the gears based on their needs for the hardware skus and budget.

slot for a Kensington lock, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI, Mini Display port, 2x USB 3.0, microphone input, headphone jack

Blu-Ray burner, USB 2.0, SD card reader, power supply

Buttons from left to right, cooler boost button to speed up the fan speed for cooling the cpu/gpu temperature , steelseries engine button, and power button.

When turn on the power, that you will see this excellent backlight keyboard design that can customize the color of the lights. As the keyboard is design by the biggest gaming accessories gaming brand, Steelseries, combine SSE engine software, user can event customize personal combo keys for the special attacks. I choose the one with 3SSD and 1HDD, which makes me has the performance for the SSD speed benefit and the big data storage capacity at the same time.

compare the product height with the iphone4S, then you will know how thin it is.

Just install the GTA5, i trun a lots of settings on high, average FPS can go up 30+ fps, still need to try few rounds and see whether im making the right choice or not, but at least so far im quite glad i purchase GE62 instead of G551.

Data backup behaviors!

As the technology is trending, before i still remember the first portable hard drive i bought is 160GB, cost me around 100 USD. Two yeas ago, due to my old notebook is almost full of data and need to have another hard drive to back up my datas, so im looking for a bigger space with good brand service. so im buying the WD my cloud as a backup storage.

normally for me, i will have three places to back up my datas, cuz i have too many photos, vidoes, documents that i want to keep for my entire life. so i will store the datas in

1. my own notebooks
2. one portable hard drive (only the important files)
3. old hard drive that aint using any more
4. in the google cloud hard drive.

when i buy in the WD cloud, in the beginning, it looks all working perfectly, and when i need to access some certain data, then i will connect it with my notebook and get the data i need. But never thought that i will be a nightmare.

It suddenly break down after using less then 30 times !!!!

though it has a good service, but all my data are GONE!!  due to this reason, im really need to find something else to secure my datas!!!1

Console game vs mobile game? soon mobile game will be bigger?

Right now pretty much in the developed countries or in the emerging market, pretty everyone will have one smart devices. I remember in some certain countries, each family will have more than 2 smart devices by person. which is a scary number to me. As the emerging market, because the smart device is much cheaper then the notebooks or the tablets, so for most of them will just just through the stages that buying notebook first, but straight away using the smart devices instead. its quite a strange but very interested fact to me.

Based on this fact theres also one another interested topics that says mobile games will generate more revenue than console titles in 2015, according to research specialist Newzoo. In its quarterly global games market update, the company estimates that revenues from smartphone and tablet titles will reach $25bn in 2014, up 42% on 2013, and $30.3bn in 2015.

So is there any game publishers will think of that combine both platforms together? when im not in the specific using notebook/PC platforms playing, i can use the smart device to play when im moving !! so it will be a pretty cool ideas if we can combine both platform together and maybe will gain better revenue through this way?

Lets say if my salary is 60,000 USD per year, include a bit bonus 20,000USD. if i dont have any extra cost and can save all the money instead, i will then have 80,000 USD per year.

I will need 13 years to catch up !!!!!

So how come these game publisher want to invest so much money to make the esports so big and everyone want to join the business? lets check the esports revenue by games.

each of the revenue is all counting by revenue is by millions, but what im impressed is Crossfire revenue is way much bigger then crossfire?  but why there isnt any big game titles like the TI series?

The World's Greatest Gaming Tournaments TI4
Picture
Valve and the Dota 2 community have outdone themselves. The International 2014 (TI4)’s prize pool has hit its final stretch goal of $10 million, unlocking all 22 stretch goals with an additional surprise reward
for an Unusual Techies Taunt. That’s around three a half times the prize pool of $2.8 million from the previous International’s and more than six times of the base prize pool of $1.6 million.

TI4’s prize pool is the first eight-digit prize pool in both the history of The International and in eSports tournaments worldwide. It is also the first time the Compendium has broken its final stretch goal twice.
